Don’t you just love the way this wreath looks? It has such a charming vintage appeal and, with the holidays right around the corner, it’s the perfect season to make one of these!
I’ve always had an affinity for all things made with shutters. They add such a homey unique look to either the inside of your home or hanging on your front door.
Debi with Debi’s Design Diary gives this shutter a nice weathered look to give it a great vintage look, along with the great message she transferred on a piece of ultra thin wood, she found in the model section of the craft store. She formed this into the shape of a ribbon by soaking it in water for a few minutes and clipping with clothes pins to form the shape she needed.
After the piece of thin wood dried, she painted it and transferred the message onto it. Then she found some laminate veneer at Home Depot and formed a ribbon with it, and painted it, to place just below the message. She glued the ribbons on with wood glue. She also added a handle she got from an old dresser and attached that to the top part of the wreath with screws.
