Don’t throw out your old and burnt-out frying pan just yet, because this DIY craft by Mr. Amazing Works on YouTube will teach you how simple it is to transform a frying pan into a rustic lighting decor with only a few easy steps.

Materials:

  • Old frying pan
  • Grinder with a wire brush disc
  • Steel wool
  • Sanding paper
  • Drill
  • Spray paint, black, white, and gold
  • Rope
  • Wire
  • Cable
  • Light bulb

Directions:

Step 1

Start by removing and unscrewing the handle of the pan, then scrub the bottom of the pan with a hard-bristled brush. Spray it with a mixture of dishwashing liquid and water, then scrub it again using steel wool, rinse it with clean water, and let dry. Grind the pan with a wire brush disc until it’s shiny, repeat the process on the inside of the pan, then scrub both sides with sanding paper. Spry with soap and water, rinse well, and dry.

Step 2

Measure and find the center of the pan and mark it. Drill about an inch wide hole on the center mark, then spray paint the inside of the pan with white and the back with black. Get a long rope and tape each of its ends, grab a cable wire and strip the end to expose its lead wires. Wrap it around a steel wire, then insert it through the rope, pull it through until about 2 inches or longer tail of the cable it out on each side of the rope’s ends. Cut out the naked wires, then paint the light bulb cap with gold before attaching it to one end of the rope. Assemble and screw the light bulb and cable to the pan. Hang it to your ceiling.
