This cute and soft pillow sewing project by Sprout on YouTube shaped like a puzzle piece is sure to melt your heart and make you feel comfy! You can start with one piece and work your way from there, fit the pieces together and create a larger pillow set or bed if you like.
Step 1
Draw a 12½ by 12½ inches square on paper, then set it aside. Trace a large circle on a separate paper using a tape roll as a guide, then add about ½ inch straight vertical line at the center of the circle’s bottom, and add lines on each side matching the end of the line at the center, then connect the three lines together at the bottom with a horizontal line. Place this pattern at the bottom center of the square with the curved side facing up and inside the square and with their straight edges matching. Trace it onto the square, then add an inner line about ¼ inch away from the original curved outline. Transfer the small pattern centered to the side of the square with the curved side pointing outside of the square and their straight edges matching, trace it out, then add an outer line ¼ inch away from the original curved outline.

Step 2
Next, start cutting out the pattern making sure to cut the outer curved outline or the lines that are nearest to you. Trace this pattern on top of two fabrics that you’re using and cut them out. Now, cut 4-inch wide strips for your edging, then sew the edges of every two strips until you’ve reached the length that you need to cover the sides of your puzzle piece. Start sewing the edging around one fabric first, then sew the remaining fabric to the other side making sure to leave a gap, and then turn the piece right side out through the gap. Stuff your pillow with polyester fiber or whatever you want, then sew the gap close. You can now sew other puzzle pieces using the same method and start completing them to create a large pillow or bed to lay or sit in.
