Lori Holt has a sew your stash series, and this DIY pumpkin patched block is so festive and fits the Fall season. I love the patch block because it’s perfect to make during this time of the year. It’s a great way to make a bed quilt or a cozy lap quilt. Plus, this would be cool to make just the patch blocks and hang them up in a nursery or quilting room. Lori is so creative, and she always finds ways to make use of your scraps. This is beautifully designed while being simple. I love the mix match patched block because it adds dimension, and it would look so cool onto a big quilt. Also, I think this would look amazing to make a throw or pillow cover for Fall decor. As always, the instructions in her videos are thoroughly explained, and I’ve never quilted before. She makes quilting and sewing look so easy too.
First, watch Lori Holt’s tutorial on YouTube for all of the specific measurements required to make a tall and short patched block pumpkin.
Next, chain piece all of the patchwork fabric together to get all of the easy corner triangles on all four blocks.
Overall, I want to try this out because I love pumpkins, and it would be a nice gift to make for someone. I love how she shows how to make two different styles and sizes of pumpkin too. They are so fun and the patched blocks can make a lot of bigger things such as a table runner or just something to hang on the wall. This is such a versatile tutorial, which is why I love watching Lori’s videos.
