Having fresh produce at home is so much better than buying them from the groceries. They have more nutrients and taste way better! However, not everyone has enough space in their backyard to start a garden. If you have this problem, do not worry! You can create a DIY plastic basket vegetable tower with this tutorial provided by DHD Garden.

This three-layer plant basket allows you to grow different vegetables in each layer. You can make plenty of these tower baskets if you are planning to have different herbs or vegetables at home. The best part is that you can use scrap wood from your past DIY projects to make them. They are easy to make and you don’t need a lot of materials.

Measure the length of the plastic basket and add a few inches of allowance. Get a wide strip of wood and cut 2 pieces with that measurement.
Measure the width of the plastic basket and add a few inches of allowance. Get a thin strip of wood and cut 4 pieces with that measurement.
Arrange the wood pieces just like in the photo below, then screw them in place. Screw the wheels in the corners, then flip it right side up.
Place the basket then screw it in place on four corners.
Get 4 long square strips and place inside the four corners of the basket. Screw them in place.
Cut two thin strips of wood the same width between two square strips. Screw them in place a few inches above the basket for the second level.
Place another basket on top. This one should be a little bit smaller, then secure it in place using zip ties. Repeat for the third level.
Place a sack to cover the insides of each basket on the bottom and sides. Fill half of each basket with potting soil. Cut a few holes on the basket and on the sack. Insert vegetables into the holes. Add more potting soil to fill the sack then plant more vegetables.
