These Penguin Ornaments are all the rage, they are taking Youtube by storm and everyone is getting a wonderful lesson in recycling! So do not, I repeat, Do Not throw out those old light bulbs because it’s a win-win situation with these infamous high-class Arctic Birds! All you need to make these penguin projects are some old light bulbs and some craft paint (in black, white , orange, and red), and I used small hearts from Michael’s Craft Store, but you could use cardboard cut out hearts, they would work fine. I also got some ribbon, some googly eyes, a little orange felt to make beaks, some red pom-poms, and my trusty glue gun of course. That glue gun is the most valuable thing to a crafter, once you get your first one, you will never live without one!
Then I painted the penguin’s heart-shaped feet orange, then painted a white bib and face on the light bulb.
I hot glued my penguin’s body to the orange heart-shaped feet with my trusty hot glue gun, then I painted the screw top part of the lightbulb red to represent a hat then placed a red pom-pom on top and then attached the penguin’s eyes and beak.
These ornaments turned out better than I even thought the would and they look amazing on the Christmas Tree! This project embodies all that I love in the DIY Upcycled and Repurposed World. It’s just so dang cool, this project will provide hours of fun for crafters of any age.
