Mark Montano, with Make Your Mark paints these incredible dollar store plates and I’m in awe of how fabulous they are!

I couldn’t believe that one small Marimekko plate costs $37 retail, which is a little too pricey for this gal! What? When you can make them yourself? The way Mark Montano paints these dishes is an extraordinary likeness to these dishes and look at the money you will save! They are so unique and have such an uplifting affect that you will be so proud to display this dishes in your cabinets or while serving a meal to guests.

You’ll need:

  • Americana Yellow, Black and White Gloss Enamel
  • Black Deco Art Glass Paint Marker
  • Paint Brush
  • Pencil
  • Ceramic Dishes
  • Rubbing Alcohol
  • Pilot Marker

It’s so amazing how easy it is to turn these dollar store dishes into these astonishing dishes! After seeing this tutorial, I went out and bought dishes at the dollar store and got busy doing this phenomenal DIY project. I just adore my new plates!

My first question was “can I wash these?” And the answer is yes! You will bake these at 325 degrees for 30 minutes and they should be dishwasher safe. Although, this tutorial doesn’t give you these instructions, I looked up his instructables so you and I would have this information to care for our fabulous works of art!
