Materials:

  • plywood (size of your preference)
  • 2″ foam
  • batting
  • fabric (of your choice)
  • electric knife (or a regular knife)
  • marker
  • heavy-duty staple gun and staples

Directions:

Step 1

To start, trace the foam to match the size of your plywood using your marker. Then, cut the foam along the traced line. Next, lay out your fabric, then fold and lay out your batting on top. (Fold your batting to match the size of your plywood). Make sure the fabric and batting are correctly placed, then lay the foam on top of the batting. Lastly, lay the plywood on top of everything.

Step 2

Once you’re satisfied with the placement, go ahead and staple the fabric along one edge of the plywood. Pull the fabric tight and staple it along the opposite edge of the plywood, then fold the fabric at the ends like a present, tucking the ends in and folding up. Staple the fabric to the plywood and repeat on the opposite side of your bench.
