Ho-ho-ho. Christmas would be short without presents. Decorate your yard for the holiday festivities with a touch of Christmas present decorations that light up. Right on time, before the big Christmas eve, Crafty Ellie shows us how to make them.

Materials:

  • 18 bamboo sticks (20cm)
  • Glue gun
  • Glue sticks
  • Mesh burlap deco
  • Ribbon role
  • Fairy lights
  • Christmas accessories

Directions:

Take four bamboo sticks and make a flat square. Using your glue gun, glue all the corners. Make it sturdy!

In each of the four corners, glue four bamboo sticks vertically. Then, on the tower roofs of the vertical sticks, glue on another 4 bamboo sticks to make another square. Be careful with the hot glue.

For a cube, find the center of all four sides and stick on another four pieces of bamboo sticks each to make a good foundation. With the same process, stick 2 sticks on the top and bottom parts of the cube.

Time for the fun part! Uncurl your burlap deco mesh, wrap it around lengthwise, and glue it on the corners on all sides of the cube, including the top area. Quick hack: use a wider material so it is faster to cover the box.

Double wrap the cube with the deco mesh if you see it is too thin.

Use your ribbon role in the same way you would for a gift box, but this time glue it to the mesh.

Now, step away and admire your work. See how it looks like it came from your favourite Christmas movie! But wait, it’s not yet done.

Bonus move: In the hollow bottom part of your present, put some fairy lights on or some Christmas accessories to make it more magical.
