Here’s a DIY large denim box to store your fabrics and tools. You can easily grab it and go – perfect whenever you do projects outside your house. This idea by wandee easy sewing is a great way to repurpose the old worn-out denim jeans that no longer fit you. Watch the video below for detailed instructions.
With your old jeans, cut a rectangular piece bigger than the size of the fusible interfacing.
Place the rectangular jean fabric right side down, then put one fusible interfacing on top and press with an iron.
Cut the pocket of the jeans and set them aside. Next, cut the rise part of the jeans. It should be 4 3/8″ long. Fold it in half, then cut.

Fle the denim fabric with fusible interfacing in half right sides together and mark the midpoint. From the mark, measure 2″ and place one pocket. Stitch the pocket into the fabric.
Repeat steps 1 to 4 to make another piece. Place them on top of each other, denim sides together, and stitch on the sides and bottom part.
Place the 2 linings on top of each other, right sides together. Sew all the way around leaving a 7″ opening.
Cut a 3 1/2″ square on a piece of paper and place it on one of the bottom corners just above the stitch line. Trace it with a pencil, then do the same on the other corner. Repeat on the linings. Cut all of the traced squares.
Sew the denim and lining into a box with a 1/4″ seam allowance.
Flip the denim box right side out. Measure 1″ from the midpoint for each side, then mark. Sew the handle on the mark.
Put the denim box inside the lining and sew on the top edge.
Turn it right side out through the opening, then hand stitch the gap. After that, top stitch the edge.
Measure 1 1/2″ from the upper seam on the four sides and stitch.
