Mason Jars can make an incredible array of DIY gifts, especially last-minute gifts when you are searching for something to give that’s quick and easy and that will be well received and not look like a last-minute afterthought. I found an excellent tutorial on Youtube that really explained several simple ways to go about making these DIY Hot Cocoa In A Mason Jar gift ideas and I couldn’t wait to get started. I first lined up my Mason Jars and got started by selecting which cocoa recipe out of the four presented that I was going to make, I chose the Maple Toffee Hot Cocoa recipe and then I gathered my ingredients, 1/2 cup of cocoa powder 1/4 cup of instant dry milk 1/3 cup of brown sugar 1/4 cup of mini (or regular) chocolate chips 1/4 cup of toffee bits *Can find in baking section next to chocolate chips, in grocery store 1/4-1/2 cup of marshmallows. Then I just started layering the ingredients, already the Hot Cocoa Jar Gift started to look amazing!
Then you can just tie a ribbon around the top of your Mason Jar and add a piece of candy, a name tag, or any other decoration you may fancy. As with all DIY’s, there is no right or wrong way to do this, this is about you being the creator and you being in complete control by making every decision, every step of the way.
These gift ideas are excellent, I ended up making all four recipes, the Peppermint Cocoa, the Peanut Butter Cocoa, and the plain cocoa. Every person I gave them to absolutely loved them, I cannot recommend this project enough. These hot cocoa recipes are all delicious.
