I was looking for some decorating ideas for jars because I wanted to make a Happy Jar, so I could write down thoughts of gratitude and pull them out and read them every day. I’d seen people do this and thought it was such a clever, uplifting thing to do! I landed on this tutorial that Mark Montano does and fell in love with these beautiful jars! If you find a tutorial that this guy does, you can usually count on it being great!

Of course these jars can be used for all kinds of wonderful storage containers, and I’ve made them for that as well.  I love having beautiful things to look at in my home.  I’ve also made some of these to give as gifts to my friends. I’ve put their gifts inside of the jars and received some amazing reactions! They love them!

Mark says “I have never been able to toss out a glass jar. NEVER!  I’m a glass jar addict.  It’s probably because I love challenging myself with new ways to recycle them.  This ginger jar DIY is quickly becoming one of my favorite things to make with my old jars. Paint them in any color to match your decor and then use them for trinkets, loose teas, coffees or creamers.  When I have a cabin in the mountains, you can bet I will have a wall filled with these!”
