Garden bed, anyone? If spending tons of money on the yard is not your thing or simply not in your budget, no fear. There are plenty of cool ways to build DIY garden beds without spending any money at all. This creative landscaping idea made from an old repurposed bed frame proves it, and I was really surprised to see how easy it is to build one. For a pretty flower bed you can make yourself, pretty sure this DYI project takes the cake. Simply find an old bed frame from a salvage yard or take one you were about to throw out and add some wooden supports to it can hold all the flowers you want to grow. Fill it up with dirt and wait to see the lovely creation you’ve made. Once everything blooms, it looks like you have a bed of flowers you could actually sleep in. Pretty cool, right?
Here is what you need to do. Get an old bed frame made of metal, even a rusty one works well, if not perfectly.
Check out the video by DIY network below to see exactly how to do this, but attach scrap wood pieces to the frame to add some structure for your garden bed.
Add some more scrap pieces of plywood to the bottom of the bed so the dirt will stay in place. You do not need a perfectly cut singular piece of wood, either. You can layer of few mismatched pieces together to cover the bottom of your DIY gardening bed. The Youtube video tutorial shows you exactly how to make one, plus you can see the flowers blooming in all of their glory. This is a low-maintenance landscaping idea that just looks better as time goes on. Mine is a bit wild and mixed with all sorts of plants and wildflowers. People compliment me on it all of the time.
