My Daughter was having a lot of trouble doing her homework in her lap, even with the cute little bean bag lap desk I had made for her and she really needed a desk, however, her room was really small and there wasn’t enough room to put a desk in there, so I went on Youtube and searched a wall mounted DIY desk idea that could fold up when it wasn’t in use and I found this awesome little wall mounted desk idea and it looked pretty easy, so I decided to give it a go. I started the DIY Wall Mounted Desk project by gathering my materials which were so affordable.
Materials:
- 1 (16″ x 48″) Project Panel
- 1 (2′ x 4′) Plywood Sheet
- 2 (1″ x 8″ x 6′) Boards
- 1 (1″ x 6″ x 6′) Board
- 1 (1″ x 10″ x 6′) Board
- Minwax Wood Stain
Directions:
First, build your box shelving small unit that will serve as the hutch part of your desk and will mount to the wall.
Then you attach your hinges so you can drop your cute desk down when you need it and fold it up when you don’t.
Then you stain all your desk pieces.
Then you just mount it to the wall, starting with the hutch part, then the support brackets underneath.
Then you mount your desk part last.
My daughter loves her new desk and it is super easy for her to do her homework now. So glad I found this attractive easy project, what a space saver it is and also did I mention this DIY Wall Mounted Drop Down Desk is cheap to make!
