Fire pits can be expensive depending on the size and kind, but this DIY fire pit by Kwankyewaa’s Kitchen on YouTube costs only about $55 to make. It’s starting to feel like Fall and the temperatures are dropping. So, it’s the best time of the year to have a fire pit in the back yard to make S’mores or hang out in the back yard with friends. It’s a good social way to gather around friends and family while the temperatures are cold. Some may say they can find fire pits for about this price, but most of them are about $50. Plus, this one is worth it because it’s nicely big and compact. Also, I didn’t realize how simple it was to make this. Obviously, you can use concrete to stick all of the blocks together, but it isn’t needed.

Materials:

  • 28-inch Firepit
  • 30 retaining wall blocks
  • 21 diameter grate

Directions:

First, take the retaining wall blocks and just make a circle while stacking them on each other with the seams overlapping. This helps it to not easily fall apart and it looks better that way too.

Next, make sure your circle is the size of your fire pit top. Then, add the fire pit to lay on top of the retaining blocks.

Overall, this is so simple, and I need to make this soon for my backyard. I don’t have a fire pit, but I’ve been wanting one. This is a great way to make something quick and saving a couple of bucks. Plus, you can make them a pretty size, and I know big fire pits are expensive. It’s a perfect size to gather a big group around the fire pit. I believe everyone needs to make one now instead of buying one that costs over $80 or so.
