The fall season is here; it’s time to go all out with our decor! This fall-themed quilt placemat from The Sewing Room Channel on Youtube is the perfect addition to your dining table this year. It’s a beginner-friendly project and doesn’t require a lot of materials. You can also give this as a present to your loved ones! Learn the step-by-step tutorial by watching the video below.
Lay fabric B with its right side down. Next, fold opposite edges over half an inch and press, then go to the other two edges and fold them over a half inch and press also. After this, take your cotton batting and your fabric A and center them. Take your two opposite edges and fold them over, wrapping the cotton batting and fabric A, and pin it to place. After pinning, stitch it really close to the edge all the way down. Do the same thing on the other edge. After you stitch the two edges down, cut some of the folded corners off. (Don’t cut the fabric underneath, just the folded part on top.) Next, finger press it, then take that edge and bring the corner to where it touches down over the front fabric. Take it again that edge and bring it up again so you’ll get a mitered corner. Go ahead and pin it. Repeat this process to all of your corners. After this, stitch one corner to the inner edge, then across up to the opposite corner. Repeat this process on both sides.

Now, do some quilting stitches. (It’s up to you what kind of quilting stitch you like.) Quilting stitches hold all the layers together so when you wash them, the cotton batting isn’t going to get all weird during the wash cycle.
