It’s not too early to sew fabric ornaments for the Christmas tree, so this DIY fabric ornaments by The Sewing Room Channel on YouTube is so easy to follow along with and it doesn’t require many supplies. I love how she provides all different kinds of ornaments to make such as a Christmas tree, snowman, star, and more. This reminds me of grade school, but we would make the ornaments using felt paper. It looks simple and quick to do, but you do need the basic sewing skills to accomplish this craft. This is a creative idea and a great way to spend time with your children and family because they can decorate the ornaments with jewels and buttons. Also, they make cute small gifts for the holidays.

Supplies:

  • circle templates
  • paper, cardstock, or cardboard from boxes
  • fabric (seasonal ones, costume, or any type of fabric)
  • interfacing
  • ruler
  • fabric rotary cutter
  • scissors
  • 1/8″ – 1/4″ wide ribbon
  • jewels, buttons, or any for decorations

Directions:

First, there are many different types of ornaments to make, but with this Christmas tree, draw a rectangle that is 7″ w x 8″ h. Put a center mark on the top of the rectangle that would be 3 1/2″ and 2″ from the bottom. Once you get the template, draw the pattern onto the interfacing and layer your fabric with two layers with front sides together.
