Fabric Notions Bowl Materials

  • 2 pieces of 5″ square fabric (1 lining, 1 outside)
  • 2 pieces of 3″ x 14.5″ strips (1 lining, 1 outside)
  • 1 piece of 1″ x 14.5″ accent strip
  • 1 piece of 2.5″ x 14.5″ fusible foam
  • 1 piece of 5″ x 5″ fusible foam

How to Make a Fabric Notions Bowl

Step 1:

Place the 1″ x 14.5″ accent strip in between the 3″ x 14.5″ lining and 3″ x 14.5″ outside fabric. Sew them together with a 1/4″ seam allowance.

Step 2:

Take the foam interfacing and place it on the wrong side of the outside strip. Cut excess. You can quilt it a little bit to add some texture.

Step 3:

Fold the piece in half, line the side seams, and sew on the edge with a 1/4″ seam allowance.

Step 4:

Place the foam square on the outer square fabric. Quilt if preferred. Take a 4 3/4″ circular item and trace it on the fabric. Cut the circle. Take the lining square and use the circle as the guide to cut it.

Step 5:

Fold the body in half and make a mark on the center both the outside and lining the same way using an erasable marker. Next, fold it in half the other way, then mark the center again.

Repeat step 5 with the circle and the

Take the bag and circle lining. Line up the marks. The right sides should be touching. Pin them in place. Repeat with the bottom of the bag. Sew all around the base. Do the same for the lining, but leave a couple of inches for the opening.

Step 8:

Turn it right side out. Close the opening. Press the lining inside the bag. Top stitch on the edges.
