These DIY paper tulips from smaARTistix on Youtube are the perfect gift for moms on Mother’s Day because nothing will beat a handmade gift for your mom, right? These tulips are super easy to make and won’t take long to make a bunch. What’s more, you only need basic crafting materials to make these. No need to buy fancy flowers; I’m sure your mom will appreciate this. Watch the video tutorial below to learn the step-by-step instructions.

Materials:

  • color papers
  • glue
  • scissors
  • barbecue stick

Directions:

Step 1

Cut a 15 cm x 5 cm rectangle to a piece of colored paper. Fold it in half, then fold it again. Using scissors, cut around the edges, shaping it into a petal, then cut a slit in the center at the straight edge. You should end up with four pieces of petals. Next, using the barbecue stick, run it over the petal cut-outs to roll them slightly. After this, slightly roll the barbecue stick on both sides of the round edge of the petal in a slant position. Now, put glue on the center cut, then glue both sides, overlapping one another. Repeat this to the remaining petals. Next, cut a 20 cm x 7 cm green rectangle. Roll it in a slant position to form the stem. Glue to secure, then trim both ends. After this, cut one end into a shape to create a tip, then open both sides. Put glue on both flaps, then stick a petal. Glue the other two petals as well on opposite sides to complete the tulip head.

Step 2

Now, take a green strip and wrap it around the stem to make the flower more beautiful. For the leaves, cut two 15 cm x 2 cm green rectangles. Fold them horizontally and cut them in a shape of a long tulip leaf. Attach the leaves to the stem. (Two leaves per tulip.)
