If you’ve been looking for something unique to make for a girl (or a grown woman) in your life, this amazing quilt is the ticket! I’m crazy about this quilt!

I love the way BelieveMagic dresses up these girls she appliques on this quilt! Their ruffled dresses are filled with details: hand stitching, bits of lace and rick rack, labels, charms, and tiny knots. Each girl is created from several fabrics and embellished with thread and found objects. Some of them even have a dimensional dress that literally pops off the quilt.

My favorite feature is the text print fabrics she uses for ‘skin’ to depict the memories we each carry with us. Each of her art quilts are an adventure with a story in each stitch, and they’re just beautiful. I can also see these quilt squares being made into book covers, fabric for tote bags, and more!

My 5 yr old granddaughter got so excited when she saw the one I made for her bed! She will be able to pass this down to her children when she is grown, or she may just want to keep it for herself. I still have the quilt my Mom made me when I was young and it’s so special to me… I could never part with it.

These girls she makes remind me of Kelly Rae Robert’s painted mixed media art. I collect a lot of her stuff, and that’s probably why I got so excited when I saw this quilt!
