love making things out of craft store crates, so when I saw this amazing Craft Crate Choo Choo Train on Youtube I knew I had to make it. I had plenty of crates in the garage and a lot of old spray paint, so there was nothing stopping me! I started this project by painting all my crates various colors, I chose Christmas colors of red, green, white and made little wheels out of round pieces of wood, you could also paint a few Frisbees from Dollar Tree.

Then I had the most fun decorating the Engine portion of my DIY Craft Crate Choo Choo Train by adding a smaller crate to the top of my lead crate and attaching it to the top with the help of my trusty glue gun. Then I spray painted a Pringles Can red and put a gold ribbon around the top and stuffed some dacron batting fluffing out at the end to represent a smokestack, then attached it with the glue gun and added a little Christmas Wreath for a crowning decorative accent.

I surprised the children with this when they got home from school with the DIY Craft Crate Choo Choo Train when they got home from school. They were falling over each other and knocking into the tree when they would survey and shake their gifts. They were so excited and happy to see that I had painted their names on each one of the individual crates. So every crate contained a specific person’s gift.  It worked out brilliantly and they loved it.

Since I lover experiments, I’ve alwaysnloved to create, paint, as well as cook and style food. I feel in love with DIY as soon as I discovered it and could not have been more excited when I learned I could share projects with people around the world. Taking photos is a passion of mine, as is design and painting with oils. I love holidays and celebrations, crafting cute little gifts and serving up at least one new recipe I am excited about.
