DIY Christmas Fireplace Mantel Garland

I love decorating the fireplace during the holidays because garlands are so adorable when they hang down from above to make the house look cozy. This DIY Christmas fireplace mantel garland by Christopher Hiedeman on YouTube is made from Magnolia leaves, berry branches, and other rustic floral arrangements. You can choose and buy any decorations to add to this garland to create one that fits your color scheme. I love a neutral look so I would follow along with this tutorial almost exactly with my own twist. I’m inspired by making my own Christmas garland, Christopher has amazing DIY projects for any occasion and holiday. My mom always buys her garlands premade, but I think it would be unique to add your own personal touch.

Supplies:

• Two small nails were used to hold the garland on the fireplace.
• Plain Pine Garland – Hobby Lobby
• Clear Lights – Menards
• Berry Branches – Walmart, Dollar Tree, Family Dollar, Michael’s
• Rustic Dried leaves/pinecone garland – Michael’s
• Red Ornaments – Walmart
• Pinecone & Bead Garlands – K-mart
• Magnolia Leaves – Hobby Lobby

Directions:

First, hang up the plain garland onto your fireplace, and add string lights if you desire. Then, add the rustic dried leaves and pinecones garland by laying it on top of the plain garland.

Next, add in any other decorations such as Magnolia leaves, ornaments, and beads. Arrange them to fit your style, and they’re easy to attach to the plain base garland.

Overall, I think making your own personalized fireplace garland is ideal because you can make them out to however you like. It’s crazy how a simple and plain garland can turn into a luxurious and elegant decor in minutes. Christmas is my favorite time of the year for decor, and it’s nice to look up new ideas every year.
