DIY Christmas Bird House Decoration

I love the holidays, and to celebrate the season, I make tons of Christmas craft projects at home. On top of my list is this beautiful DIY Christmas birdhouse decoration.  Isn’t this decor by DIY Creative ideas amazing? Learn how to make it by watching the video below.

Materials:

• plastic bottle
• marker
• round and flat wooden sticks
• hot glue
• wood stain
• jute
• cork base
• cardboard
• scissors
• ribbon
• small Christmas decorations

Instructions:

Step 1:

Using a marker draw a dome near the bottom of the plastic. Cut the bottle around with the bottom straight line as the basis.  After that, cut the shape.

Step 2:

Stick the wooden sticks around the bottle using hot glue leaving the curved part of the bottle exposed. For the curved part of the door, measure them first, then cut the wooden sticks according to size.

Step 3:

Cut the flat wooden sticks just an inch from the end of the curved part. Next, stain them and let them dry completely. Glue them on the curved part of the bottle – start on the bottom. Make sure to overlap each one and do it in layers.

Step 4:

Poke a hole in the cap of the bottle, insert a piece of jute, then tie it into a knot. Hot glue the knot to the cap so it will not move. After that, cover the cap by gluing the jute around.

Step 5:

Trace the bottle with the wooden sticks on cardboard and cut it into a perfect circle. Glue the cork base on the top and bottom of it, then cut it into the exact shape of the circle. After that, attach it to the bottom of the birdhouse.

Step 6:

Glue jute twine on the curved door, then cover the edges of the corkboard with ribbon. Decorate it however you like.
