With the approach of Christmas, I’m trying to find ways to gift those in my life while not spending too much. Let’s face it, one can go broke this time of year! Do our loved ones need an expensive gift? Can I find gifts that won’t break my bank but still be useful? Of course you can. All you have to do is cruise around on Pinterest…there are a bazillion fabulous DIY projects available and most of your family and friends will cherish a gift made by you. Pinterest has so many awesome ideas that you can make and they won’t break your bank. And, frugal gifts can be fun and useful.

Those who love you won’t think, for one second, about your gift’s price tag. You’ll see what I’m speaking of when you check out this tutorial!

I have been looking for a nice serving tray that would be able to carry a ton of stuff back and forth from the kitchen to the dining room or outside to the patio. Since we moved into our house last year I’ve looked high and low, but hadn’t found anything that was what I had in mind.  Then, one day I was browsing on Pinterest, and came across a genius do it yourself idea for making a serving tray and the fact that it had a chalkboard on it I had to make it!

I literally ran out to Home Depot the same day, and picked up my supplies…

Watch how Shanty2Chic does this in their step by step tutorial so you can make one of these too!

Since I lover experiments, I’ve alwaysnloved to create, paint, as well as cook and style food. I feel in love with DIY as soon as I discovered it and could not have been more excited when I learned I could share projects with people around the world. Taking photos is a passion of mine, as is design and painting with oils. I love holidays and celebrations, crafting cute little gifts and serving up at least one new recipe I am excited about.
