Are you looking for creative idea to turn a boring space into something fun and usable!  I didn’t realize how easy it was to make your own chalkboard!  I’ll never buy another chalkboard again!  This is such a grand idea for repurposing old unused picture frames.  I have tons of them and this will make great gifts!

Old frame, sand paper, your favorite color of paint for the frame and some chalkboard paint for the chalkboard.  She uses Plasi-Kote spray paint, semi gloss enamel, paint brush, and, of course, chalk!  She lays out some cardboard on a flat surface and paints the frame (2 coats).  Next she sprays the glass (from the picture frame) with chalkboard paint (2 coats).  She lets both pieces dry overnight.  Then she places the chalkboard painted glass into the frame, attaches the back and secures it with the metal attached to the frame.  Now she can write her message on the chalkboard!

Watch how she does this in the step by step tutorial!

Since I lover experiments, I’ve alwaysnloved to create, paint, as well as cook and style food. I feel in love with DIY as soon as I discovered it and could not have been more excited when I learned I could share projects with people around the world. Taking photos is a passion of mine, as is design and painting with oils. I love holidays and celebrations, crafting cute little gifts and serving up at least one new recipe I am excited about.
