I have always adored Mexican Folk Art for the bright colors and intricate details. Artdeco Painter, Mark Montano has used portraits of the famous Mexican Artist, Frieda Kahlo, (who we see in a lot of this type of art) and other brightly colored images on the painted bottle caps.
I used discarded scrap wood and bottle caps to create these fun crosses. There are tons of images to choose from on the internet if you search for bottle cap art.
When I was a kid my parents would go to Mexico and bring back all kinds of fantastic treasures. Once they brought back these super scary tapped tin masks with marble eyes….I loved them! Thus my love for Mexican Folk Art.
Watch how Mark Montano makes these cool crosses in his step by step tutorial. This is a really easy DIY project, yet so stunning!
