Don’t know what to do with your fabric scraps? Why not consider turning them into fabric bookmarks? I got this idea from Pin Cut Sew on YouTube. I think it’s a brilliant way to use your fabric scraps. Some of them are way too cute to end up being used as fabric stuffing. If you have tiny pieces of fabric from your favorite print, this is a great way to use them.

Making these fabric bookmarks is incredibly easy and quick, perfect for beginners. You can make them in different sizes and shapes–just be creative! They are great for gift-giving and stocking stuffers this holiday season.

Sew your fabric scraps together to make a rectangle. Take your pattern and place it on top. Cut the fabric using the pattern as the guide using a rotary cutter.
Take a small ribbon and fold it in half. Place it on the top middle of the front fabric, with open ends lined to the edges. Pin it in place.
Place the background fabric on top of the batting, right side up, then place the strip unit on top, right sides together. Sew all around the edges of the unit, but leave a small opening. Trim the excess batting and background fabric.
Flip it right side out, between your background and front. Press it flat. Fold the opening inside, and iron it.
Top stitch all around the edges. This will also close the hole. Quilt it in the same pattern just like in the photo below.
