There comes that time when a baby bed no longer works for your little darlings. This precious bed is a great solution to that problem. Ana White has this listed on her site  and this Daddy shows us how he made this in his step by step tutorial.

Our kiddos grow up way too fast these days. It’s like you blink and they’re grown! I can’t believe my little girl is already in college!

This bed is the perfect bed for a college dorm room! My husband and I got busy making one of these for her. She’s ecstatic about it and loves the fact that it has drawers built that slide underneath it. I wish my bed had drawers under it! At least she’s got extra space to put her stuff! Her girlfriends are jealous and want one too!

I don’t know about you, but I feel that most dorm rooms are terribly inadequate and poorly set up. The typical dorm room is a square cinder block box with a window, bulky furniture, and awkward layout. I know that nowadays when new residence halls are built, more thought is being put into the efficiency of the rooms.  Some new dorms are extremely modern in style. But if you don’t have that option, what do you do?

So I got to thinking about the dorm. So what would be some easy ways to increase the function of a dorm room while maintaining a traditional, comfortable feel?

I found this tutorial and was so excited! Pottery Barn doesn’t sell this bed anymore and as we know the beds they have for sale cost around $400 – $600. We built this one for $150- wood, hardware, paint and all.

So, watch how Homesteadonomics builds this awesome bed in his step by step tutorial so you can get busy either making your child their big-person bed or a functional bed for your child’s dorm room!
