I love cooking anything in the crockpot and I also adore tacos, so why I had never thought of making my favorite dish, tacos in the form of a crockpot soup is beyond me. When I saw this recipe for a crockpot Taco and 15 Bean Soup recipe on Youtube and had to try it, after all, I love tacos and 15 bean soup mix and I also love my crockpot so it was an obvious match made in Heaven for me. The recipe couldn’t be easier, I just threw all these ingredients into the crockpot, (minimal pre-cooking necessary). I started by gathering my ingredients together:
Cook your ground beef with salt and pepper, drain off fat and set aside. Rinse your Hurst’s Hambean 15 Bean package contents in a colander, then add to the crockpot (no pre-soaking necessary) Do not add the ham flavor packet to this recipe you can save it for another recipe if so desired.
Add onion, chicken broth, and bay leaf. Wait to add the taco seasoning, because too much salt will prevent your beans from softening. Place the lid on your crockpot and cook on high for 7 hours.
When cooking time is up, remove the bay leaf and add the Salsa of your choice and also the taco seasoning. Stir well and serve.
This recipe is really easy and tastes delicious, I highly recommend it!
