So if you’re still undecided on what to cook for tonight’s dinner, give this recipe a try. Watch the video below to learn how to make this fantastic dish.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 tbsp steak or hamburger seasoning
  • 4 – 6 cube steaks
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp cooking oil
  • 1 medium yellow onion, chopped

French Onion Gravy:

  • 1 can (10 oz) French onion soup
  • 1 can (10 oz) beef broth
  • 1 can (10 oz) cream of celery (or cream of mushroom)
  • parsley, for garnish

Directions:

Step 1

To start, make the dredge for the cube steaks. On a plate, combine 1/2 cup flour and 1 tbsp hamburger seasoning. Mix well, then coat the cube steaks with it. Next, add 1 tbsp of cooking oil and 2 tbsp of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once the butter melted, gently place the dredged cube steaks in the skillet. Cook both sides until nice and brown.

Step 2

Next, sear the roughly chopped yellow onion on the same skillet just to absorb the excess oil and butter, then put them in the bottom of the crockpot. After this, place the steaks on top. Now, in a bowl, pour in one can of French onion soup, one can of beef broth and one can of cream of celery. Whisk them until well combined, then pour them all over the cube steaks. Place the lid on and cook it on low for six to eight hours or high for four to six hours.
