I love crockpot recipes, and one of my go-to for a cozy night is this Cola BBQ chicken recipe from Catherine’s Plates on Youtube! What I like the most about this recipe is the rich and flavorful sauce, thanks to Coca-Cola. I also like how tender the chicken is and how well it is seasoned. It’s definitely one of those crockpot recipes that you won’t help yourself but ask for seconds; it’s that delicious. Impress your family today by serving this at tonight’s dinner! Watch the video below for the step by step instructions. Thanks to Catherine’s Plates for this hearty and comforting recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 2 medium yellow onions, chopped
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • everything bagel seasoning
  • 12 oz Coca-Cola (or other flavor soda)
  • 2 cups of barbecue sauce
  • 1 tsp of black pepper
  • 1 tbsp of cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup of water

Directions:

Step 1

To start, grease your slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray. Next, rough chop your white onion and put them in the bottom of the crockpot. After this, season your chicken on both sides with everything bagel seasoning, then place them on top of the onions in a single layer. Now, pour the Coca-Cola along the sides and the edges of the chicken. After this, add 2 cups of barbecue sauce, and 1 tsp black pepper.

Step 2

Place the lid on top of the crockpot, set it on high, and cook for about four hours (or low for six to seven hours.) After cooking, remove the lid and break up the chicken using a meat chopper or two forks. Next, combine 1 tbsp cornstarch and 1/4 cup water in a small bowl to make a slurry, then add it to the crockpot. Mix it well to combine. Serve and enjoy!
