For some reason, I haven’t had much Indian food in my life, but this specific dish is popular in Indian cuisine. It is almost as equivalent to orange chicken and rice at a Chinese restaurant. I’m not much of a picky eater, but Jessa Seewald made a simple meal that is a family favorite for her sons. On a side note, her kids are super adorable with bold blue eyes and curly hair. It’s refreshing to see a young mom finding quick recipes to make. I love how up close and personal she was which made her videos seem more natural and unscripted. Jessa threw everything in the crockpot in about 5 minutes, and the chicken tikka masala was good to go!
Ingredients:
- 5-8 frozen chicken breasts
- 1 large onion, diced
- 3, 15oz. cans tomato sauce (can sub 1-2 cans diced tomatoes for varied texture)
- 3 packets Tikka Masala Seasoning
- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream (can sub 13oz can coconut milk)
- cilantro (optional)
Directions:
Step one:
Place the frozen chicken breast, onion, tomato sauce, and Tikka Masala seasoning in the crockpot.
Step Two:
Cook on low for 7-8 hrs. About 30 min before serving, shred chicken with two forks and add heavy cream.
This crockpot chicken tikka masala recipe is best to serve over a bed of rice. Garnish with cilantro and you are set for this quick, Indian cuisine.
