Tater tots hands down are my favorite style of potatoes.  No matter what, if there is an option for tater tots instead of regular fries, I choose the tater tots. I came across The Country Cook’s recipe via YouTube and her videos are short and simple. I love how she has a similar style as Tasty’s video because the flow of close up video content is easier to follow. Also, if you prefer this style of a tutorial, then I advise you to check out her channel! She doesn’t have any talking to her video, but you’re able to quickly follow along when she adds the ingredients in the crockpot. This cheesy crockpot chicken tater tot casserole can be a whole meal in one! You can also modify this recipe however you like such as making it into a meatless meal or adding your preference of cheese.

Ingredients:

  • 1 (32 oz) bag frozen tater tots
  • 1 (3 oz) bag bacon pieces
  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts diced
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • salt & pepper to taste

First, spray down the slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray. Layer half of the frozen tater tots on the bottom of the crockpot. Sprinkle 1/3 of the bacon pieces and 1/3 of cheese on top along with the diced chicken.

Then, you’ll want to season with salt and pepper. This recipe becomes a pattern of layers, so just repeat and keep adding layers. Also, you’ll want to pour in the milk after you are done and let it slow cook on low for 4-6 hours.
