The combination of comforting flavors of cinnamon, clove, ginger, and pumpkin pie spice is the reason why everyone loves to make this recipe at home. It’s super moist, delicious, and easy to make. For the vanilla buttercream frosting:

In a large bowl, combine all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon, clove, and ginger. Combine all ingredients using a whisk. Once done, set it aside.
Beat 2 eggs in a small bowl. Next, in a medium-sized bowl, put the pumpkin, vanilla, beaten egg, and vegetable oil. Mix until well combined. Set aside.
Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and put the pumpkin mixture in. Fold gently until it’s well combined. Lastly, combine the buttermilk.
Grease the sides of the crockpot with vegetable oil and line the bottom with parchment paper. Pour the cake batter and spread it evenly. Place the lid back on and set the heat to low for about 1.5 to 2 hours depending on your crockpot. Refrain from removing the lid. After 2 hours, insert the toothpick in the center to check if it’s done. Allow the cake to cool in the crock pot for 30 minutes before you remove it.
Make the frosting. In a bowl, add soft butter and some powdered sugar. Mix using a hand mixer or stand mixer. Next, add vanilla and heavy cream. Mix again. Continue adding the powdered sugar in batches until you have a thick creamy frosting.
Spread the frosting on top of the pumpkin spice cake and drizzle some caramel on top. Slice then serve. Enjoy!
