I’ve noticed that cream cheese recipes do not require a lot of ingredients. This cream cheese cookie recipe by Preppy Kitchen on YouTube is so high-quality and I love how there are different shots in the video to keep it entertaining. There’s no beating around the bush with this video, and it goes straight into how to make them. After watching so many baking videos, I need to invest in a stand mixer because it makes the process go by faster. I normally use an electric hand mixer or do everything with a wooden spoon.
First, whisk together the flour, salt, and baking powder in a large bowl and set it aside. Using a stand mixer or an electric hand mixer, cream the butter and cream cheese together. Add the sugar, eggs, vanilla extract until it’s all fluffy and combined.
Next, once the dry and wet mixture of the cream cheese cookie dough is finished, let it chill for at least an hour in the fridge. Heat the oven to 375F and portion out two tablespoon-sized pieces and roll into a ball. Bake for 10 minutes or until it’s nicely golden.
Note: the cream cheese cookie dough will be sticky so dampen your hands before rolling them into a ball form.
All in all, the cookies look amazing, fluffy, and moist right in the center. I’ve never heard of cream cheese cookies before. They remind me of regular sugar cookies, and I love how simple they are. The cookies came out perfectly shaped and I can only imagine how nicely sweetened the cookies taste.
