Materials:

  • 1 printed layer cake
  • 1 layer cake for background
  • 3/4 yards of inner border fabric
  • 1 3/4 yards of outer border fabric
  • 8 1/2 yards of backing fabric (vertical seams) or 3 yards of 108″ wide backing fabric
  • 3/4 yards of binding fabric
  • 1 Missouri Star drunkard’s path circle template set (small)
  • (click here for the free pattern)

Directions:

Step 1

Take two squares (background and print top color) and line them together. Place the template on top and line the 8 1/2″ line right along the edge of the squares, then place the little quarter circle right on the opposite top corner. Grab your rotary cutter and cut them directly. Once done, put the print piece with the background, then the background piece with the print. Fold each in half to make a center crease, then pin them right sides together, lining the center crease together.

Step 2

After this, start sewing the curve, one stitch at a time, then press nice and flat. Repeat these steps to make more units. Once you’re done, lay them up to make the quilt top. (See the diagram on the free pattern for the placements of each unit piece).

Since I lover experiments, I’ve alwaysnloved to create, paint, as well as cook and style food. I feel in love with DIY as soon as I discovered it and could not have been more excited when I learned I could share projects with people around the world. Taking photos is a passion of mine, as is design and painting with oils. I love holidays and celebrations, crafting cute little gifts and serving up at least one new recipe I am excited about.
