Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup dark brown sugar
  • 6 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 large ripe bananas (about 1 cup when mashed)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (plus more for topping)
  • nuts of choice (for toppings)

Directions:

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. In a large mixing bowl, add 3/4 cup dark brown sugar, 6 tbsp melted unsalted butter, and one egg. Mix well until smooth. Next, mash three large bananas and add them to the brown sugar mixture. Whisk to combine. After this, sieve 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder, 1 tsp baking powder, 1 tsp baking soda, and 1/2 tsp salt. Fold to combine, then add in 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips.

Step 2

Grease your loaf pan using some cooking spray, then transfer the batter. Smoothen out the top and sprinkle your favorite nuts. Once done, place it in the preheated 350 degrees F oven and bake for 40 to 45 minutes. After baking, cool it a bit then slice. Serve and enjoy!
