Put the 1 package of vanilla sandwich cookies into a bowl and crush them into pieces. Once done, add 1/2 cup of unsalted butter and 1/4 teaspoon of salt into the crumbs. Mix together using a wooden spoon. Next, transfer them into a baking pan and spread in the bottom layer. Gently press to make the crust. Place in the refrigerator.
Put 1 package of softened cream cheese in a bowl and whisk. Next, add 1 cup of powdered sugar and mix. Add 1 and 1/2 cups of frozen whipped topping and stir again. Once done, remove the crust from the fridge and pour the mixture on top. Spread evenly.
In another bowl, add 2 boxes of cheesecake instant pudding mix, and 3 cups of whole milk. Whisk until it becomes a thick mixture. Next, mix in 1 cup of frozen whipped topping. Spread the mixture on top of the cream cheese layer.
Add the cherry pie filling and spread evenly.
Put the remaining frozen whipped topping on the top. Place inside the refrigerator and let it chill for 1 to 2 hours. After 2 hours, slice and top with nuts (optional). Serve. Enjoy!
