This is the best bread pudding recipe I have ever tried. It is smooth, creamy, delicious, and even melts in your mouth. The raisins are just optional. If you don’t like them, you can use chocolate chips. Serve it with your favorite sauce or ice cream for a delicious snack or dessert.
If you have a day-old bread, don’t throw it right away. You can still bring it back to life with this recipe. It is also a great way to lessen food waste.

In a sauce pan over heat, add 2 tablespoons of sugar and 1 teaspoon of water. Cook until the sugar caramelizes. Transfer to a 6-inch pan and spread evenly on the bottom. Top it with a few pieces of black raisin. Set aside to let it cool.
Cut the sliced of bread into small pieces.
In a bowl, add 2 eggs, 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla, 3 tablespoons of sugar. Whisk until well combined. Pour 1 1/2 cup of milk into the mixture and mix well.
Add the bread pieces into the mixture and soak them. Add 2 tablespoons of black raisin and 2 tablespoons of gold raisin. Mix well.
Pour the bread mixture into the caramelized sugar. Flatten the top.
Steam for 20 minutes on medium flame. Once done, let it cool down completely before removing from the mold. Slice and serve. Enjoy!
