If you like peaches, there’s nothing like a fresh one that’s perfectly ripe to bring joy into your life. The first tip is to buy peaches that are not overripe. Just something that’s firm. Don’t squeeze them to find out, because squeezing them just ruins the fruit. TomTallClover on Youtube teaches us how to perfectly ripen peaches fast. Here’s how.

Step 1: When you get a peach, you don’t want it to be mushy. You want it to be firm so when you get it home it’s not already bruised or squished. Then you get a linen napkin, or a cotton dish towel, but not like terry cloth. You need a really breathable fabric. You place the peaches apart from each other (they should not be touching) on the fabric.
Step 2: Once you’ve separated them all and placed them on a cloth out of the sun, simply place another napkin over the top to keep fruit flies and other critters out.Basically, you just leave them like that and check them every day. Usually, it takes less than 6 days for them to ripen.
Once they’re ripened and you want to keep them ripe, you can place them in the fridge to preserve them while you think of the best dishes to make using peaches.
There are so many delicious recipes to choose from using this wonderful fruit. Just remember that when you’re in a rush and you need them to ripen properly and fast, try this simple trick. Some people say you can use brown paper bags and what not, but those are a bit messy. It’s better to use fabric instead.
