This is probably the best French toast casserole recipe I have ever tried – thanks to Preppy Kitchen for this recipe. I was literally speechless when I had my first bite of this yummy breakfast casserole. My whole family enjoyed it so much that we’ll be making it again this weekend. It’s super easy and quick to make, and most of the ingredients you need are already in your pantry. Plus, it’s perfect for this fall season! Read on or watch the video below for full instructions.

Start by preheating your oven to 375F and lightly grease a 13 x 9 inch baking dish with butter.
Make the filling. In a large bowl, add eggs, milk, brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt. Whisk until well combined. Add the bread and stir until fully coated. Transfer to the prepared baking dish.
Make the topping. In a small bowl, add brown sugar, cinnamon and salt. Whisk until well combined. Sprinkle it evenly over the bread mixture, then dot the top with butter.
Place it inside the preheated oven and bake for 30 minutes or until the filling is set and the top has a golden brown color. Once done baking, let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with powdered sugar and maple syrup if desired. Serve and enjoy!
