It never occurred to me to do this, but it sure is a fun and clever idea…especially for parties or having special dinners for your friends and family.

Add some sparkle and fun to your serving spoons, dip spoons and spreaders!  These are so much fun to make, and add the personal touch to any party!  They also make a great gift.

I personally think this looks better when 16 gauge wire is used. I saw some of these done on Pinterest this way and it just looks better than the thin wire this gal uses in her tutorial, but you can choose whatever you like best.

Don’t save all the really cool projects for the holidays, you can put together all sorts of interesting embellished kitchenware and serving pieces any time of the year!

Sure, the holidays are the seasons for celebrating, but if you’re anything like my husband and I, you enjoy entertaining throughout the year to enjoy the company of your family and friends.

To make the beaded serving spoon, first arrange the beads in a pleasing pattern along the handle.  Be sure not to extend the beading too far down the handle, as cleaning dips or food particles from the beaded area may be difficult.

Once you are satisfied with the pattern, cut a 12” length of craft wire.  Using the round needle nosed pliers create a small coil at one end of the wire.

Continue this process until you reach the top of the spoon handle.  Finish with a small wire coil.  You can place a dab of glue beneath the first and last bead to secure the design in place.

I haven’t seen anywhere how to clean this beaded silverware, but I’m pretty certain you need to hand wash them.
