This banana bread recipe by Cooking With Donna on YouTube is made in a brownie form with brown butter icing. I’ve never had the combination of the two together, so it would be interesting to try this brownie. I think it would be super moist with the ripe bananas because whenever I make banana bread, it never comes out dry. They remind me of banana bars too, and this is a great way to use up those bananas that might be too ripe to eat alone.

Ingredients:

Brown butter icing:

  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 3 tbsp whole milk
  • 2 cups powdered sugar

Banana Bread Brownie:

  • 1 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup white granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 cup sweet cream butter, melted
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/8 cup
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 2 large bananas, overly ripened
  • 2 cup of cake flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Directions:

First, start off making the brown butter sauce by adding butter to a pot and stirring occasionally so it does not burn. Add the rest of the ingredients and set the icing aside. Then make the banana bread brownie mixture, and pour it into a 9×13 lightly sprayed pan with foil.

Next, bake the cake for about 30-40 minutes at a preheated oven of 350F. Spread the brown butter icing onto the cake once it is cooled off completely so it doesn’t melt off. Let the icing set for about an hour before serving.

Overall, these banana bread brownies look so rich and soft. Plus, I think it would be an excellent treat for those that love bananas and want them in a different form instead of bread. The brownie looks so moist and it’s satisfying to imagine what these would taste like because I love having them separate on its own.
