Add all of the ingredients in a bowl and mix them together to form a shaggy mass of dough.
Transfer the dough onto a clean work area and knead the dough until it becomes soft and elastic. The dough will not be sticky. If you have a stand mixer, just knead the dough for around 8 minutes using the dough hook attachment.
After kneading, place the dough into a bowl and cover. Let it rise for 30 minutes.
While proofing the dough, heat a tablespoon of oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the hot dogs and cook until lightly crispy. Once done cooking, set them aside on a plate and let them cool.
After proofing, divide the dough into 8 equal pieces. Tuck the edges toward the center and roll the balls into small round balls. Next, roll each of the dough balls to a thin sheet, then roll and form into a long cylinder shape. Seal the edges by pinching. Roll this into a 10to 12 inch rope and keep the middle thicker than the ends. Roll the dough rope around the hotdog, then tuck the ends. Place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Repeat the same process for all of the dough balls. keep some space between each sausage roll.
Cover the sausage rolls with a cling wrap and allow them to rise in a warm place for another 45 minutes. Brush them with egg wash and sprinkle some sesame seeds on top.
Bake the buns in a 375-degree F oven for about 18 to 20 minutes or until golden brown on top. Once done, remove them from the oven and immediately brush them with butter.
