There are a ton of recipes you can make with avocados. You can make breakfast toast, salad, guacamole, ice cream, and so much more using this fruit, but have you heard of avocado brownies? I had never tried them until I saw Clean & Delicious‘ recipe. Who would’ve thought you could make rich and fudgy brownies using avocado?

If you are a fan of this fruit, you should definitely try this dessert recipe. It is not only delicious, but it is also healthy and gluten-free! Making these avocado brownies is super easy. It will only take a couple of minutes to prepare! All the flavors blend well together, creating this very indulgent treat. You can even taste the bananas in the brownies. If you are not a fan of them, you can easily replace them with applesauce.

Easy Avocado Brownie Ingredients

  • 1 large avocado (pitted and peeled)
  • 1/2 cup of mashed banana or apple sauce
  • 1/2 cup of maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup of coconut flour
  • 1/2 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon of sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1/3 cup of chocolate chips

How to Make Avocado Brownies

Step 1:

Start by preheating your oven to 350F and greasing an 8 x 8 baking dish with butter. You can also use coconut oil or cooking spray.

Step 2:

In a blender or a food processor, add the avocado flesh, mashed banana or apple sauce, maple syrup, and vanilla extract. Blend until smooth and creamy.

Step 3:

In a large mixing bowl, add eggs, coconut flour, cocoa powder, sea salt, baking soda, and avocado mixture. Mix until well combined using a hand mixer.

Step 4:

Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish, then sprinkle chocolate chips on top. If preferred, you can mix some of the chocolate chips into the batter.

Step 5:

Place in the preheated oven and bake for 25 minutes. Once done baking, let it cool completely before cutting. Slice into 9 squares and serve. Enjoy!
