Instructions
Make the crust
Step 1:
Start by preheating your oven to 350F, and greasing a 10 x 14 baking pan, then set it aside.
Step 2:
Add rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, white granulated sugar, cinnamon, and kosher salt in a large bowl.
Step 3:
Add cubes of cold butter into the dry ingredients. Work into the dry mixture until it resembles wet sand with some pea-sized pieces of butter. Get 2 cups and reserve it for later.
Step 4:
Press the remaining mixture into the prepared pan. Firmly and evenly press on the bottom and sides. Place inside the preheated oven and bake for 15 minutes. Once done, take it out from the oven and set aside to cool.
Make the filling
Step 5:
Remove the core of the apples and thinly sliced them. Add into a large bowl, followed by flour, white granulated sugar, maple syrup, cinnamon, and allspice. Mix until well combined, then transfer to the baked crust.
Step 6:
Spread apples into an even layer, overlapping as needed, then sprinkle reserved 2 cups of prepared crust topping. Place inside the 350F preheated oven and bake for 35 to 45 minutes until the apples are tender. Once done, remove from the oven and cool for an hour before serving. Enjoy!
