To make these Christmas cookies, you will need slivered almonds, butter, vanilla extract, powdered sugar, all-purpose flour, and salt. They are incredibly easy and quick to make, ready in just a few simple steps. In the bowl of your stand mixer, add 1 cup of softened butter and whisk until creamy. Alternatively, you can use a bowl and a handheld mixer.
Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla and 1 cup of powdered sugar. Whisk until well combined.
In a mixing bowl, add 2 1/2 cups of flour, 1/4 teaspoon of salt, and 1/2 cup of slivered almonds. Mix to combine.
Add the flour mixture to the butter mixture. Whisk until crumbly.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Get a small amount of the dough, then form it into a ball. Place on the prepared baking sheet. Repeat with the remaining dough. Make sure to space them apart.
Place the baking pan inside the oven and bake at 325F for 15 minutes.
Once done baking, place the cookies on a wire rack and let them cool for a little bit.
Add 1/2 cup of powdered sugar in a bowl. Roll each cookie in the powdered sugar to coat. Serve and enjoy!
