In this step by step instructions, John Kirkwood will teach you how to make the ultimate roast potatoes using your trusty air fryer and ingredients already in your kitchen. I make these roast potatoes all the time as it’s a family favorite side dish. So, if you’re tired of your usual potato recipe, try this one out; you won’t regret it, trust me.

Ingredients:

  •  1 1/2 lb potatoes
  • 2 tbsp cooking oil
  • salt & pepper
  • fresh herbs of your choice

Directions:

Step 1

To start, peel the potatoes, then cut them into 1 1/4″ pieces. Once done, transfer them to a bowl of cold water, then rinse thoroughly. Dry them in a piece of paper towel or a clean kitchen cloth. Put the potatoes back in the bowl and add 1 tbsp cooking oil and a pinch of sea salt. Toss the potatoes well until completely coated in the oil. Set aside. Preheat your air fryer to 390 degrees F (200 degrees C) for three minutes. After this, transfer the potatoes to the basket, and cook the potatoes at 30 degrees F for 20 minutes.

Step 2

Every five minutes, give the basket a good shake, then after ten minutes, drizzle 1 tbsp cooking oil over the potatoes and lower the temperature to 350 degrees F. After air frying, transfer the potatoes to a paper towel-lined bowl to remove any excess oil, and let them sit for a while. Transfer to a serving bowl, garnish with fresh herbs of your choice, and season with sea salt and ground black pepper. Serve and enjoy!
