Instructions:

Step 1:

Pick 4 pieces of 4″ squares and arrange them to make a 4-patch block. Start by sewing the upper row with a 1/4″ seam allowance then press the seams towards one side. Next, sew the second row and alternate the pressing direction. Sew the rows together then press the seams. This will be panel A.

Step 2:

Cut two pieces of panel B measuring 7 1/2″ x 2″. Sew to the lower part of panel A. Make two pieces of this block.

Step 3:

Cut 2 pieces of panel C measuring 7 1/2″ x 9″ rectangles.

Step 4:

Lay out 8 pieces of 4″ squares, 4 squares on each row. Sew two at a time then press in alternating directions. Then sew in a rectangle block to make panel D.

Step 5:

Cut 2 pieces of panel E measuring 7 1/2″ x 10 1/2″. Sew panel E to the short sides of panel D. This will be the front panel.

Step 6:

Lay 16 pieces of 4″ squares, 8 pieces in each row. Sew two at a time then press in alternating directions. Sew together to make panel F.

Step 7:

Cut 2 pieces of panel G measuring 7 1/2″ x 3 1/2″. Sew the two panels to the short sides of panel F. This will be the back panel.

Step 8:

Place the back panel right side down, then cut 7 1/2″ x 34 1/2″ from the insulated batting. Place it on top. Next, cut a 9 1/2″ x 34 1/2″ 100% cotton batting and place it on top of the insulated batting. Now take the front panel and lay on the top right side up. Baste all the layers. Once done, quilt your panel in any design you want. Set aside.
