About Lily

I grew up watching shows like Art Attack, Martha Stewart, Rachael Ray, Ina Garten, Project Runway, and various home decor programs. I was captivated by anything that involved creating and designing. The countless hours I spent in front of the TV were no joke, but I thoroughly enjoyed them and loved soaking up all the information these shows offered. They definitely kickstarted my love for anything DIY.

I made handmade papers in different colors.

My room was always messy back then, with papers and art materials scattered everywhere. I loved exploring different mediums, even if I wasn’t particularly good at them. I learned that you don’t need to be good at something to enjoy it! I’m always open to exploring new things, so whenever something piques my curiosity, I devote my time and energy to learning more about it.

I think I inherited my creative spirit from my Auntie, who is very supportive and loving. She loves art, fashion, and decorating our home, and she has definitely had a big influence on me.
I also loved journaling as a kid. I was very shy growing up, so my journal became my best friend. I wrote about my day and all the creative ideas in my head.

Even though I loved art, I pursued a technical education. I loved the complexity of it. Those years were very challenging but also satisfying to my curious mind. It involved a lot of computation and problem-solving, which I truly enjoyed. However, I always knew that I was more inclined to art, so after graduating, I took the leap and started writing and doing creative jobs. I believe no time and effort was wasted, as I can still apply the skills I learned to this day.

My interests haven’t changed much over the years. I still watch cooking, art, and interior design shows, but as an adult, I’ve developed a greater love for traveling. The knowledge and experience you gain from traveling are unmatched. Meeting new people and experiencing different cultures is just amazing.

My Favorite Holiday

Here in the Philippines, Christmas and New Year are big celebrations. You’ll see Christmas decorations in malls as early as September. They are my favorite holidays, without a doubt. Everything feels so light and warm, and I get to be with my family and cook our favorite dishes.

My family loves to cook different cuisines, which is why I love food.

I made an origami Christmas tree and used old styrofoam for the snow part.

My Go To Recipe

My go-to recipe is tamarind soup with pork. Some people may not like it because it’s sour, but it’s really delicious and easy to prepare. I also love cooking pasta, especially spaghetti. For desserts, it would be ice cream.

It has fried egg, crispy bacon, and spinach. I topped it with cheese, mayo, and another pancake.

All-Time Favorite Dessert

If I could only eat one dessert for the rest of my life, it would be cookies and cream ice cream, for sure.

My Favorite Cooking Hack

Placing a strong fan beside me while cutting onions. If you try it at home, make sure it blows away from you.
